About Art Conservation
Art Conservation was founded in 1991 as a conservation studio for paper by Piet van Dalen and Jan Stokmans. Today, different restoration disciplines form the basis of a professional and leading company that specializes in conservation and restoration : archeology, contemporary art, ceramics, modern art, paper, paintings and sculptures. Within this multidisciplinary workshop becomes the knowledge of our qualified restorers bundled and shared.
With our many years of experience, we have become a concept in the heritage world that guarantees quality and expertise . We handle all types and sizes of objects with full knowledge of the facts. Art Conservation aims to promote and increase research, knowledge and discussion in the field of art. We work both in situ and in the studio in Vlaardingen.
What are we doing?
Art Conservation works for museums, art dealers, galleries, governments, various heritage institutions and private individuals. Both public and private collection managers can contact us for the conservation, research and restoration from objects made of various materials . We conduct research, write condition reports, provide restoration advice and carry out the proposed restorations. For all your restoration needs and activities you have come to the right place at Art Conservation. Art Conservation carries out all activities according to ethical principles, whereby authenticity, reversibility and minimal intervention are of great importance. We strictly adhere to the E.C.C.O. (European Confederation of Conservator-Restorers ‘Organization, European Confederation of Conservator-Restorers’ Organization, www.ecco-eu.org ).

Besides, our sister company, Art Salvage,offers integral collection management. This means that we can help you to prevent, limit and detect as many risks as possible that arise around your collection and to be able to respond to dangers and then remedy them. Art Salvage can assist you with your wishes regarding collection registration, emergency assistance, art handling and securing or moving art in public space.
